Clarity to Achieve Your Goals

Do you want to start achieving your goals?
Here’s the simplest piece of advice: don’t overcomplicate it. It really comes down to whether you want it or not.

I say this as someone who’s constantly chasing something new: something bigger, better, more meaningful. There’s nothing wrong with having dreams and goals. But personally, my struggle is that I want to achieve everything all at once. I’ll start on one thing, and almost immediately, my mind starts racing with the next idea. Then I start thinking about how to begin that task. Before I know it, I have three or four things on my plate and I’m overwhelmed. I don’t give myself the patience to break down the steps for one goal – I feel the urge to start all of them at the same time.

I think a lot of us can relate to that. Once we reach a goal or hit a milestone, we start thinking about what’s next. I’ve had moments where I look at someone else’s life and think, “Wow, they really have it all together,” or “If only I could be where they are.” But here’s the truth: every person who’s gotten to a place we admire had to put in the work, the patience, and the effort. Yes, it is true – in some circumstances, life isn’t always fair. Some people do have advantages, talents, or certain privileges others might not have. But by comparing and obsessing over that only drains your energy. You are making assumptions – you don’t know what someone had to go through to get to where they are.

The ironic part? The people I look up to are thinking the same thing about someone else. They’re still reaching, still striving, still growing. Growth is never ending, and honestly that’s the beauty of it. There’s always something new to learn about ourselves, new limits to push, and new dreams to chase.

Now, back to how to actually achieve those goals.

If you don’t genuinely want it, it won’t happen.
If you don’t take risks, it won’t happen.
And if you stay in your head, stuck in the cycle of overthinking and never taking that first step, it definitely won’t happen.

But, the good news is that you can make it happen!

Lately, I’ve had multiple bigger goals on my mind: Redesign and post more on my blog, create more content, work on my memoir, build my life coaching business.

Now, that’s a lot. Especially since I just started a full-time job after graduation. So I took a weekend to pause, unplug, and reflect. I asked myself: What matters most to me right now? Are there smaller steps I can take to focus on one, maybe two of these at a time?

Because if you try to tackle everything at once, you’ll stay overwhelmed. From personal experience, like I said before, it just won’t happen and you will find yourself more frustrated that you never were patient or focused enough to do one thing at a time.

Clarity and simplicity lead to action. Our minds are the most powerful tool we have, and it’s honestly astonishing what we can achieve when our hearts and minds are open.
